Biking in Alta Badia is an amazing experience to discover the valley and the famous Dolomites mountains with the ebike.
This e bike tour develpos in Alta Badia, certainly one of the most beautiful and popular valleys in the Dolomites. Rocky walls with the magnificent peaks of the Puez Group, the Sella and the imposing Sassongher and among them green meadows, pastures and forests.
Corvara, the largest town in Alta Badia, is located at 1,568 m above sea level. at the foot of the imposing Sassongher. And our e bike tour, to discover this fascinating valley, starts right here.
Corvara is located in a large valley between the Sassongher and the Sella massif on one side and the Pralongià plateau on the other. The town can be considered the cradle of Ladin tradition and tourism in Alta Badia: already in the second half of the 19th century, local young people began to climb the surrounding mountains and the first guests reached Corvara. The start of winter tourism was instead given by the construction of the Col Alto lift in 1938, which in 1947 was replaced by the first chairlift in Italy.
Particularly evocative is the panorama enjoyed from the Pralongià Plateau: from Marmolada Glacier, the highest peak in the Dolomites, to various other surrounding peaks up to the mountains of the Austrian Alps – everything seems idyllic.
From Corvara on the ebike we follow the Ru Tort stream then, once we arrive in La Villa, we gain altitude and reach the Piz de Surega. Then passing through Pralongià you arrive at the Cherz refuge and descend to the Campolongo Pass, where you quickly return to Corvara.
The tour is 100% ridable, and is also suitable for families looking for a beautiful day to spend outdoors in a stunning Alpine landscape. There will be shortage of photo stops and some refreshment breaks to taste some local products at the Alta Badia huts.
