Biking to Sassolungo Sassopiatto is another classic and well know Dolomites ebike tours of our epic selection, in this case support by lift.
This itinerary, taking advantage of the ski lift, allows you to enjoy 1500 meters of descent in a unique setting with just 800 meters of uphill difference in altitude to pedal.
We start from Campitello with the cable car to reach Col Rodella, we go down with our ebike where we reach the altitude of 2485 up to the top of the Valentini refuge on the Sella Pass. From the nearby Sella refuge the climb resumes in the lunar landscape of the Città dei Sassi, accompanied by superb views of Val Gardena, Pordoi and the Odle massif.
The very high walls of the Sassolungo therefore form the backdrop to the bumpy mule tracks that descend from the Comici hut to the Palusc woods, just above Mount Pana. In this area we will have the opportunity to admire the Campanile Comici also known as “Salame del Sassolungo”, a torpedo that detaches itself from the northern side of the Sassolungo in a corner of paradise, the scene of important mountaineering events.
We will ride our e-mtb through the meadows at the foot Sassopiatto and arrive at the fairy-tale Zallinger hut located at an altitude of 2,054 surrounded only by quiet and breathtaking views. After a short descent through the woods you regain altitude again by climbing to the Duron pass, a mountain pass set in the wonderful setting of the Denti di Terrarossa and the Catinaccio di Antermoia.
The Catinaccio di Antermoia is the setting for the final descent into the bucolic Val Duron, a green expanse dotted with alpine pastures and farms until Micheluzzi hut from where the descent becomes steeper towards the valley floor.
An itinerary of great satisfaction and rare beauty that requires a minimum of aerobic training considering the length of the route and the climbing.
